Château des Allues

The Savoie of eastern France is a spectacular scenic wonderland with the snow-capped Alpes in view and thermal spas attracting visitors over the centuries.  It is with great pleasure that we can now include Château des Allues among the members of our web site ~ a fine château with beautifully appointed guest rooms, fine dining and the ideal destination for a refreshing and relaxing stay in France.

The château is situated is the Parc Naturel Regional du Massif des Bauges ~ an exceptional nature preserve ~  not far from Chambéry, the large Lac du Bourget at Aix-les-Bains, and most convenient to the city and airport of Geneva, Switzerland.  The River Isère is nearby ~ the area is peppered with scenic driving routes, walking trails and the ski slopes are not far away.

Château des Allues dates from the 17th century and is only a few minutes from the autoroute between Albertville and Chambéry ~ yet it is extremely peaceful and quiet so that guests enjoy the full benefit of a country holiday ~ making it the ideal location for alpine skiing.   In Chambéry, a town of Italian origins, guided tours are available.  The château offers warm, restful accommodations decorated with fine antique furniture, paintings and art objects,  while at the same time providing all the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.   There are three spacious suites, Reine des Près, Thym Citron and Mauve Sylvestre, all with modern en suite bathrooms and private toilets.  There is a grand double room, Citronelle, as well as a cozy twin, Ciboulette, also with en suite bathrooms.  Rooms have views over the gardens, park and mountains, providing every guest with the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent Savoie countryside from the privacy of their own rooms.  The salon is a great place for sitting before the fireplace on a chilly evening, or find a book to read in the well-stocked library.  The panoramic mountain views are breathtaking.

Guests can enjoy day trips to vineyards or take walks in the woods if so inclined.   They can also borrow bicycles at the château to explore the surrounding area.  Breakfasts at the château are generous and help you to get a good beginning  to your day.  Dinners are gourmet experiences, prepared in a beautifully appointed kitchen and served in an elegant wood-paneled dining room accompanied by fine Savoie wines.  The Château des Allues is the perfect destination in alpine France for anyone seeking crisp mountain air, exquisite accommodations, fine dining, astonishing scenery and an opportunity to take part in exhilarating outdoor activities.
