Le Petit Manoir des Bruyères
'Speechless' may be the best word to describe your reaction when you first set eyes on Le Petit Manoir des Bruyères.  This delightful manor house is crowned with a distinctive Burgundian patterned roof in the style of  the Hôtel Dieu in Beaune.  The gardens are magnificent, filled with roses, flowerbeds and specimen trees.  The residents of the gardens ~ a fine collection of birds including pheasants, ducks, rare pigeons and others ~ are very interesting and fill the garden with their charm and voices.  The interior ~ from the magnificent ceilings to the beautiful carpets ~ is exquisite.  Four-poster beds await you in many of the guest rooms, and the period furnishings throughout create an atmosphere of history and a sense of style.    All double guest rooms are en suite,  with showers or baths.   One of two suites offered is Montespan ~ a royal suite overlooking the forest and park ~  entered through an 18th-century music room  where there are depictions of cherubs playing various musical instruments.  A French-style ceiling, objets d'art, and antique furniture complete the picture.  Its double bedroom offers a view of the flower garden,  and the white Cyprus marble bath just adds to the feeling of luxury.  La Vallière, a lovely rooom facing the front gardens, has a very comfortable bed and painted coffered ceiling.  It also has an en suite bathroom that is lavishly decorated and includes a unique oval window overlooking the garden below.    Modern amenities at Le Petit Manoir des Bruyères include safes, satellite television, mobile phones and non-smoking rooms.  Breakfast or fine dinners in the Louis XIII dining room are bountiful feasts to be long remembered.  Most impressive of all is the lovely couple who own this unique home.  The Jouillés could not be more friendly and accommodating to their guests.  Their love for their home and gardens is evident, and they want to share it with guests who come to them from all over the world.  The thoughtful and tasteful restoration of this home which has stood since 1600 will surely impress you, and we know you will want to return once you have experienced this Burgundy jewel.
