On the historic Cotentin peninsula of Normandy in the département of the Manche, is the grand Manoir de Caillemont, a historic residence whose hosts, Monsieur and Madame Fouché, offer a warm welcome and exceptional comfort to their guests.  The location, just a short ferry ride from the Channel Islands, makes it special indeed with easy access from the islands as well as from Britain.   The nearby coastline is dotted with seaside villages offering restaurants, shopping and sightseeing convenient for those staying at Caillemont.

Guest rooms, all named for the Channel Islands themselves, are en suite with elegant furnishings and are cozy and peaceful retreats.  Two suites and two double guest rooms comprise the accommodations at Manoir de Caillemont, but a studio apartment is also offered for rental by the week and includes a kitchenette.  It sleeps two to four persons comfortably.

Open from March 26th this year, guests can enjoy the heated swimming pool (not a common amenity in Normandy), a pleasant library, a billiards room, games of darts or ping pong, and children's swings.  Nearby attractions include coastal resort towns and beaches, a nine-hole golf course, horseback riding, water sports, the towns of Barneville-Carteret (Channel Islands ferries) Cap de Carteret (lighthouse), Valognes (cider museum), Cherbourg, Ste Mère-Eglise, Coutances, Granville (casino) and Villedieu-les-Poêles where you can shop almost forever for copperware!

A wonderful French breakfast is included in the room rates, and dinner is served with advance reservation.  Unusual, however, is the option to enjoy a light mid-day meal and the availability of beverages such as tea or coffee in the coffee shop in the château.
