| The Château de la Coutancière is a refined early nineteenth century residence, decorated with discriminating taste and style, and ready to welcome families and groups of friends for a week or longer. As everyone knows, the Loire Valley is enchanting, and this château is ideally located for day trips to the Valley's most interesting attractions. From the historic Abbaye de Fontevraud to the hilltop Château de Saumur originally begun in the tenth century, visitors will find the location of this impressive château ideal for all they want to see and do. At the château itself, time stands still as you wander the more than 27 peaceful acres that comprise the estate. Horse owners can bring their horses along to share their vacation with them ~ stables are provided in one of the outbuildings. Because of the wildlife on the property, the owners cannot accept dogs, however. Whether enjoying the hot tub, playing a game of giant chess or taking some meals en plein air, the gardens and park will enchant all who stay here. The professionally-appointed kitchen is perfect for preparing meals for large groups; and there is an outdoor kitchen that is equal to any task. The dining room is spacious and can accommodate sixteen at the table. Additional seating can be provided. The rooms in the château are of generous proportions and are warmly decorated to make everyone feel right at home. Several sitting rooms and salons are on the ground floor, one of which is a Gentlemen's Lounge with comfortable leather furniture and another is a French-style salon with a fireplace and authentic décor. Eight of the ten guest rooms at the château are en suite and are beautifully appointed for guests' utmost comfort. All amenities are provided including bed and bath linens. For indoor entertainment there is satellite television, DVD and CD players and a piano. Those who need to use a computer will find one available along with broadband Internet access. If you are planning a family gathering or celebration or are seeking the perfect château for a group of friends to vacation, Château de la Coutancière is ideal. Open all year, very reasonably priced, and well located in the beautiful Loire region, this château may be the setting for a most luxurious and memorable holiday in France. |
