| Domaine de Moulin Mer is located on an incredibly beautiful coastline of a protected bay, and on the northern edge of the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique. The residence was built in the 1920s for Frédéric Etienne Madec, the long time mayor of Logonna-Daoulas, based upon plans that he designed himself. He was from a powerful family that owned stone and marble quarries, a fish cannery, fishing boats, a forge, farms and even forests. Today, this lovely south-facing manoir is just steps away from a small coastal port and is surrounded by its own palm groves, bamboos and eucalyptus among the more conventional oaks and magnolias. The Domaine is situated in a temperate microclimate which ensures guests of good weather and comfort year 'round. The new owner has completely renovated the manoir while preserving its historic charm and ambiance. Fine woodwork and floor boards from ancient tall ships can be found throughout the house. The Domaine is a light and cheery chambres d'hôtes where guest rooms and suites are beautifully appointed to emphasize quality and comfort. All bedding, linens and pillows are selected with the environment and hygiene in mind and have been treated against dust mites and allergens. The en suite bathrooms are new and modern, providing guests with 21st century conveniences. The common rooms are designed for conversation and comfort ~ places to gather for breakfast, to watch television, read or just relax. WiFi is available throughout the Domaine for those who must keep in touch with the outside world via computer. The town where the Domaine is located on the Logonna-Daoulas peninsula, has an interesting history regarding its name: Logonna comes from ‘Loc-Onna’, a derivation of Saint Monna, the Abbot of Tech Munna in Ireland. Saint Monna is now the patron saint of the village's church as well as the name of one of the Domaine's guest rooms. Daoulas, the nearby village, is located at the junction of two rivers, the Mignonne and the Lézuzan, and its name in Breton means: daou two and glas river. Domaine de Moulin Mer is about halfway between the cities of Brest and Quimper in the Finistère département. The village itself offers a lot to see and do as it has two ports (Pors Beach and Moulin Mer) and several creeks and strands. All are linked by an eleven-mile coastal path that begins very near the Domaine. Guests will find the location perfect for bayside walks and exploration. The fresh sea air will rejuvenate all who stay here. For a quite retreat in a superb location, one cannot go wrong with a stay at Domaine de Moulin Mer. |

Directions:
From Paris by auto: take the autoroute A11 to Le Mans, then the A81 direction Rennes. Then take the N12 out of Rennes direction St-Brieuc. Continue on N12 to Morlaix and then all the way on the N12 to Landivisiau. Follow directions from there given below. From Roscoff ferry: take the D58 south direction Landivisiau. Stay on this road as it becomes first the D788 and then the D69. Go through Landivisiau and the road becomes the D30. Proceed about 15 kilometers to Sizun. Just past town, turn right onto the D33 direction Daoulas, then the D33 direction Logonna-Daoulas. Airport: 28km (17 miles) at Brest Railway:
