| Many
a bride and groom have chosen this magnificent château in southwest
France as the location for their wedding. And, it is no wonder!
Luxurious rooms, beautiful grounds, and a region of France with plenty
of fair weather ~ what could be more perfect? Perhaps your next visit
to France will take you to the midi-Pyrénées and the little
town of La Bastide de Sérou. If so, as you marvel at the endless
charm and profound beauty of the Ariège département,
you, too, may decide that Château Rhodes is the perfect place to
stay.
Recently the château came under new ownership and has just undergone a complete renovation. The château is rented by the week as a self-catering property or, if desired, all meals can be prepared by the chef for the duration of your stay. Whether you choose to stay one week or longer, you will be greeted with warmth and friendliness by the new owners. Long the residence of a powerful and aristocratic family in the Ariège, it is now a luxury rental property for the first time in its history. The grounds are encircled by a tranquil walking path, and are accentuated by both a river and a stream. Near the exquisite pool is a heated Jacuzzi, both with views of the dramatic Pyrénées mountain range, and tennis buffs will be thrilled with the court. There are three hundred year-old trees in the well-tended landscape, lovely flower gardens, citrus trees, and a terrace from which one can hear the soft flowing Arize River which meanders through the château's park. Within the château itself are ten bedrooms of various sizes ~ all carefully decorated to create a special environment for guests. Filled with 18th and 19th century antiques, Persian rugs, and beautiful art work, the Château Rhodes will create incredible memories for all who stay there. Guests will be able to avail themselves of a well-stocked library of books, DVDs, CDs and games on the first floor or take advantage of the satellite television, broadband internet access and even free phone calls anywhere in the world. There is a childrens' game room and a billiard room with an antique table. Now that you know more about Château Rhodes, let's return to the subject of a wedding at the château. There is a 17th century chapel a ten-minute walk from the Château. Your hosts will work with you to make all arrangements from pre-wedding events to the reception. They will aid in the design of the event and make arrangements for all details including the officiant, photographer, caterer, florist, transportation, menu planning, wine selection, music, décor, and even the day following the ceremony. Nothing is left to chance, and a wedding at the beautiful Château Rhodes will be a cherished memory for the happy couple, their family and all the friends who were fortunate enough to share the event with them. |
