Salon and Treaty Room

Library

Elegant  common rooms at the château create a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation and the opportunity to truly experience château life.  There are salons providing places for conversation, to write in one's journal or to quietly read.   This Louis XVI Library offers a satellite TV, DVD player, VHS player and stereo, while still being warm and comfortable, and it is beautifully furnished to make guests feel very much at home.  And, of course, a nice selection of books is available for those seeking a tranquil place to read and relax.  The salon is also equipped with a fax machine and telephone.

  Treaty Room

Historic events played a role in Château de Servigny to the point that a treaty bears its name:  the Treaty of Servigny marked the Surrender of Cherbourg to the Allies on June 26, 1944.  It was in this room and at this desk  that the Treaty was signed in the presence of General Collins and General von Schlieben.  Interesting photographs of that important time adorn the walls.  This room is part of the private residence in the château, but guests may visit it if accompanied by the owners as their guides.
