La Terrasse de Lautrec

Entering through the blue front door of La Terrasse de Lautrec does not prepare one for the wonderful surprises beyond.  Each guest of La Terrasse will be taken by the charm and elegance of this historic 17th century manor house and the warmth and talent of proprietaire, Dominique Ducoudray.  But, they will also remember forever the exquisite French gardens designed by the famed Le Nôtre and the spectacular countryside views beyond the medieval ramparts that form the garden walls.  This wonderful chambres d'hôtes  in the charming hilltop medieval village of Lautrec will leave a lasting happy impression on all those who stay here.  Madame Ducoudray could not be more friendly and accommodating ~ she is available to make recommendations for all there is to do and see both in this wonderful historic town and in the surrounding region.  Guests who make arrangements to have dinner at La Terrasse will not be disappointed either, as Madame is a fine chef and dinners are beautifully prepared and delicious.  The atmosphere of the manoir is cozy and comfortable; it exudes warmth and guests are made to feel right at home from the moment they arrive.  Each en suite guest room or suite has large windows that look over the Place du Monument at the front or the grand gardens at the back.  The village itself, registered as one the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is peaceful and calm, but don't let that fool you into thinking there is nothing to do or see!  There is the fine 14th - 16th century St Rémy collegial church within view of La Terrasse and a working windmill (1688) reached easily by a wide stone stairway that passes by the doors and windows of local residents to the top of the hill.  The village's winding lanes wander past 16th century timber frame houses and a 14th century covered marketplace (Friday markets) with a well dating from 1338.  Lautrec offers small shops as well, but it is definitely not overrun by tourists ~ and its residents prefer it that way.  La Terrasse offers its guests privacy amid fine antiques, tasteful décor and a friendly atmosphere.  Guests who arrange for dinner at La Terrasse will enjoy an early evening apéritif with their host and hostess accompanied by lively conversation.  The spacious en suite guest rooms offer comfortable beds, modern amenities and quiet nights.  Guests are free to use the garden where they can sit beneath the grape arbor and enjoy the fine weather and endless views, and, of course, there is the heated swimming pool for those so inclined to swim.  Breakfasts are served in the lovely dining room or can be taken on the terrace overlooking the gardens if weather permits.  We know you will enjoy every moment spent at La Terrasse and the lovely historic village of Lautrec.
