Villa Vauréal

In the popular seaside resort of Biarritz is the wonderful Villa Vauréal, a maison d'hôtes offering both bed and breakfast accommodations and weekly rental villas.  All the rooms are named for the luscious fruit so plentiful in the region, and the vibrant color palettes chosen by your hostess, Christine Rannou Ader, make them cheerful, warm and cozy. Of course, the views of the ocean can't be ignored!

Villa Vauréal is a Basque-style house on a very quiet street named for Count Vauréal, the benefactor of Biarritz.  In a peaceful setting surrounded by spacious gardens, the Villa was built by a local wine merchant in 1904 high on the cliffs over the coastal beaches  ~ a special residence at a time when the town was devoted primarily to fishing.  Views of the sea and the Pyrénées are very much appreciated by the guests who stay here.  Located conveniently in the center of town, Villa Vauréal is a tranquil retreat with the sea only 150 meters away.

Original fireplaces and woodwork add to the ambiance and charm of Villa Vauréal.  The tasteful décor perfectly combines tradition with contemporary design, with the use of thoughtfully-placed antiques, harmonious fabrics and bright colors of the southwest.  Each guest room has either four-poster canopy beds or French canopies, and the suites include a sofa bed to accommodate additional guests.  All rooms have kitchenettes for the convenience of their occupants.  Breakfast can be taken in one's room or in the garden under the sycamore trees.  Guests find themselves enjoying the shade of the lime and magnolia trees in the garden toward the end of the day.

For vacationers interested in self-catering accommodations, Villa Vauréal offers Chalet Bergamote, Chalet Clementine and Loft Passion accommodating 2 to 4 persons, 6 to 8 persons, or 2 to 5 persons respectively.  These are beautiful, spacious and comfortable villas with all modern amenities including TVs, DVD players and laundry facilities . Both Chalet Clementine and Chalet Bergamote have balconies and ocean views, and Loft Passion overlooks the gardens which they all share with Villa Vauréal.

Your next visit to the southwest corner of France can be very special indeed when your plans include a stay at the wonderful Villa Vauréal.
