Château des Tesnières
The Ille-et-Vilaine département of Brittany near the border with Normandy is home to a beautiful neo-Renaissance château, renovated completely in 2004 and already welcoming guests from around the world -- guests who appreciate the fifteen acres of magnificent parkland including vast lawns for strolling, century-old cedars and oak trees, verdant meadows, and peaceful water features such as tranquil lily ponds. The fairy tale château was built in 1867 by the Count of Langle near some ruins of a manor destroyed during the French Revolution. In 2003, the current owners purchased Château des Tesnières and transformed it into an elegant chambres d'hôtes offering two spacious double guest rooms and four suites. The rooms of the château for use by guests include a library, a Louis XVI salon and a dining room, all with period fireplaces. In one of the two towers is a self-service bar offering cool drinks, coffee or tea at any time of day, and in the other tower is an office area with a personal computer and Internet access at the disposal of guests.
Contemporary Chambre Sud Large groups of people are welcomed for seminars, meetings or other gatherings, and the hosts provide all the necessary equipment for the function, as well as pleasant, personalized service to those in attendance.
