Six days and five nights are included in this tour.  After an afternoon arrival and settling in your room, guests of the Château will enjoy a visit to the owners' extensive private wine cellar, an introduction to wine tasting, a dinner complete with wine and cheese, time to allow all the guests to get to know one another, and a restful first night's sleep at this tranquil and charming château.   Dinner is included.

On the first full day, guests will visit Château Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, including a visit to the private wine museum and its priceless art collection, a tasting of the spectacular wines of the 2006 vintage and lunch in a local fine restaurant.  The destination for the afternoon will be Château Latour to see their state-of-the-art winemaking facilities and vat rooms.  Tastings will introduce you to their older wines as well as more recent vintages.  Finally, a stop at Château Pichon Longueville Baron, a castle reminiscent of a fairytale château from the Loire Valley.  A tasting follows a tour of their unique vat room.  Dinner will be enjoyed at La Tupina, acclaimed as one of the 50 best restaurants in the world.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Rare vintages

The next day will be spent tasting Sauternes wines, a visit to Château Haut Brion, and perhaps see a cooper at work making wine barrels.  Seven hundred years of winemaking make Château Pape Clément very special, so we are sure you will enjoy your next stop there!  Dinner will be at a Michelin-rated restaurant with a view of Bordeaux and surrounded by its own vineyards. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

On Thursday off again to the Médoc to Margaux, Saint Julien and the city of Bordeaux.  The famed Château Léoville Barton or Château Brance Cantenac will be on the itinerary, as well as Château Margaux later in the morning.  Prior to stopping for lunch, the group will be welcomed at Château Prieuré Lichine where the renowned Alexis Lichine himself will take the group into his private dining room for lunch!  Steaks will be grilled on vine twigs and all the wines accompanying the meal will have been produced on the estate.  In the afternoon, we will visit the dynamic and historic city of Bordeaux.  There will be time for wandering about and shopping, and dinner can be taken at one of many fine Bordeaux restaurants.  Your hosts will make reservations for you.  Breakfast and lunch are included.

Friday is the day to visit Saint Emilion and Pomerol, Saint-Emilion being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Winding cobblestone streets and charming buildings will make the day quite pleasant.  The group will visit a producer like Château Gazin to taste the velvety wines served with subtle dishes.  Another vineyard will be visited later in the day.  Comparisons will be made between the wines of Saint Emilion and Pomerol or Médoc and Graves.  Following lunch, a wine shop will be visited if anyone wishes to purchase wines to take or have shipped back home.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Saturday is your last day at the château.  Following a leisurely breakfast, take some time to relax, photograph your group and the château, and prepare for your departure.  Breakfast is included.
