What could be more
delightful than spending time along the River Lys (Leie in Dutch)
as it winds its way through the castle gardens? The river has its
source in France in the nearby village of Lisbourg, and flows in a northeast
direction into the River Scheldt in Ghent, Belgium. It is 126 miles
long and was the site of two battles in WWI and one in WWII ~ today
it is nothing but peaceful and pleasant.
