French Garden Adventures

Experience the wide variety of gardens and plants that thrive in the Dordogne.  Choose from either a seven- or four-night package which will include visits to a selection of Aquitaine's classically beautiful, enchanting and exotic gardens. Box topiary, exuberant roses, dramatic bamboo, and sparkling water gardens will delight you. 

Enjoy gardens designed with music in mind; visit lively flower markets in bastide villages, or simply wander through blissfully peaceful gardens that you might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience.  There are large well-established gardens, smaller private gardens owned by enthusiasts, and specialist gardens.  Whichever tour you select of the four offered, they are appropriate for small groups of like-minded people who have a love and interest in gardening and who want to add to their knowledge.  Domaine des Faures' tours are created to appeal to people with a range of gardening skills, from the dedicated hobbyist to those who simply enjoy the beauty of a well-designed French garden.
 

There are four tours offered:  Scents and Sensations in June, late summer's Mellow Fruitfulness tour (both seven-night tours),  early spring's The Land Awakens tour mentioned below, and the Flowers and Festivals tour in May ~ the last two can be four- or seven-night tours.  The photo on the left was taken at the private Château du Losse, near the River Vézère, with its amazing box gardens ~ a château that  is included in three of the four tours.  Jardin de Sardy, displaying its refreshing water features, is a highlight of the Flowers and Festivals tours. 
 

Included in the tour package are your rooms at the Domaine des Faures with both a welcome dinner and breakfast each morning, two lunches during the tour, and a restaurant farewell dinner at the end of your stay.
